Necronomicon - Held yearly (around October) in Sydney, Australia. Specialises in darker roleplaying and freeforms, although does offer a variety of games. Home of the Short Sharp Shocks tournament. ConOrg - An occasional conference for Australian games convention organisers. Copies of papers presented. Jester-Con - Tasmania's only convention, held in Launceston. A two-and-a-half day event. Includes: guest speaker and seminar, LARP, roleplaying, tabletop or miniature games, CCGs, miniature painting competitions, story writing competition and scavenger hunt. DWARFCon - Three day convention of the Dandenong Wargamers and Role-players Federation. Gaming is held in Melbourne's South Eastern Suburbs. Pandemonium - Adelaide's main games convention. Mostly card games, war games and roleplaying. Arcanacon - Held yearly (around July, although in 2001 is moving to January) in Melbourne. Mostly roleplaying and freeforms. Has a reputation for excellent writing. Auran Big Weekend - The largest games convention in Queensland, Australia, held on Queensland's May long weekend every year. Combining traditional board games with miniature, role playing and live action games. NotaCon - A monthly event held in Melbourne, featuring roleplaying and other games. More informal than a regular games convention. Unicon - Melbourne's cheapest roleplaying convention, organised by the roleplaying societies at Melbourne University and Monash University. Held around October. Sydcon - Sydney's Easter games convention, featuring roleplaying, wargames and card games.
