    American Academy in Rome - The Rome Prize - Open to all U.S. composers. 11-month stipend to live at the American Academy in Rome. Guidelines, list of previous winners, list of jurors.

    Copland House - Residencies of 1 to 2 months for "gifted, emerging or mid-career" American composers reside, one at a time, at Copland House in upstate New York. Application form and guidelines available on website.

    The American Acadeny in Berlin - Candidates must be either American citizens or permanent residents. Stipend of $3,000 - $5,000 per month, round trip airfare, apartment and partial board at the Hans Arnhold Center. Proposed projects must demonstrate a need to be in Berlin. Website has guidelines, application forms, and list of current fellows.

    Continental Harmony - A project of the American Composers Forum, sponsoring composer residencies of up to six weeks in various communities around the country. Criteria vary depending on the community. Calls for composers by community, list of composers, projects, premieres.
